tdc1101:What is this grey box hiding? What is it for? Make a drawing of the inside of the box. Grey Box Secret tdc1101
One of the many vices that can come about doing digital work. I am sure there is another grey box with bottles of adult beverages locked up somewhere too! Saw from other posts that digital drawing is a option. Used Educreations on my ipad for this entry.
HELP: Any ds106 folks using wordpress.com as a host – No matter how many times and directions I follow for embedding my Flickr images in the blog I come up with ZERO – just a text link. Any hints appreciated. I need to figure out to save on space for uploads. Add a thought here, Tweet or email.
What a great way to follow a new learning curve, Kathy!
Very original! And funny! Made me think about needing a chocolate fix!
I simply download my images from Flickr, which they make super easy to do, onto my desktop.
From WordPress I add media by then navigating to my desktop.
If you actually want to do an embed, learn how here:

(In Google, I entered a search request that said “How do I embed my Flickr images in WordPress?”)
Thanks sandybrownjensen. Chocolate is a calmer!
Also thanks for the links. That is what I did as well as a Google search. I follow the directions, but it doesn’t pull in the photo, just shows up as a text link. Even used the tips from Jim Groom in the handbook. I can copy and paste his link and it shows, my photos don’t. Now I am wondering if a I have a preference in fLickr ticked to prevent? That’s my next path to troubleshoot.
I have been uploading to the media library, but that will fill up fast even with compressed files, so trying to establish now instead of hitting a wall down the road. “Boot camp 2” tips suggestion from those who travelled before. Thanks for the suggestions, I will post when solved.

Found it! Flickr setting in Permissions and Privacy. Box checked that said “Hide from API and 3rd party search……” – this checked didn’t allow the wordpress server search to find it – so it left it as a text link. Unchecked – embeds work!
